Solar Hoàng (she/her) is a fantasy author of grand stories with small people. With a background in data science, her occupational hazard may include books that blend magic with science, where pain is necessary and heroes are optional.

Her adult fantasy debut, RIVER RUNS RED, is the first book in a historical fantasy duology set in 1920s Vietnam, about a magical crime family and their efforts to maintain power and influence over the country, while going through a succession battle internally.

When not writing, she’s recovering from drinking too much Vietnamese coffee.
